Sony PS3 delay
The Sony Playstation(R) 3 has had its launch date moved to March 2007 in Europe. The North American release is still slotted for November 17, 2006. The delay in Europe was due to some production problems in relation to the blue laser diodes. Kaz Hiai (President and Chief Executive Officer, SCEA) : "The change in the release date for PLAYSTATION 3 in the SCEE territories will not impact our launch for the system here in North America. Our plans remain unchanged, and we are on track to meeting our goals with this important launch. It is also important to note that the previously announced global PLAYSTATION 3 shipment forecast of six million units within the fiscal year ending 2007 has not changed." {09/06/2006}
